Today’s photographer spotlight is Analogueblues, a 19-year-old photographer in New York. I asked her some questions about her work, and this is what she said…
What do you shoot with?
My go-to DSLR camera is my Nikon D3100 and my go-to film camera is my Pentax K1000 with a sprinkle of instant film.
How long have you been taking photographs?
For about 2 years, although my love for photographs started as a child.
What inspires you the most?
Music, but also looking at the photography of others is very inspiring for me.
What’s your favourite thing to take photos of?
If you couldn’t take photos, what would you do instead?
I would have to pick up drawing to capture what’s in my mind.
What are you plans for the future?
I hope to someday go into the field of medicine.
What is it that you enjoy about photography?
Photography is sort of like a fingerprint. Every person on this planet has a different fingerprint, and just like photography, no two people can create the same picture even if they have the same equipment. Every photographer whether professional or freelance has their own style. The journey to figure out what your style is quite rewarding and it’s never static, it changes as you change. So to put it simply, I enjoy the journey photography takes me on.
What motivates you?
Knowing that in the future I don’t expect to be in the same position i’m in now, i’m motivated to do all I can in order to move forward.
Definitely one to watch, I think :) You can find more of her work here.
