Self Portraits

It probably goes without saying that self portraiture is not the easier of beasts – especially if you’re trying to do it with a film camera. Nothing to check, no way to know if you’re in focus or a fuzzy blur standing in the dark. Fun!

Is it any wonder that most 35mm self portraits end up with the camera in shot – shooting into a mirror or something reflective at least guarantees you won’t cut your head off (unless you want to). I love these photos tho – there is a certain charm that only comes from a portrait of someone in a mirror with a camera in hand.

This is a regular feature on the blog which does pretty much what it says on the tin – photos/illustrations that make you feel good. Simple, no? Everyone likes to be happy so here are some things to make you smile:

There seems to be a bit of a trend developing in my Flickr favourites. Does anyone fancy taking me out for dinner?

Monday – the least liked day of the week. I don’t work on Mondays any more (thankfully) but for those who do, here are some of my favourite ‘Monday’ tagged images to get you through.
